Terms of Service

1. What Sounds of Timor is

Sounds of Timor (sounds.oftimor.com) is an online platform where musicians, bands, DJs and other performers (“Artists”) publish profiles, press kits and audio/video content; where listeners stream that content; and where venues, event organisers and private clients (“Bookers”) request and record live-performance bookings.

Sounds of Timor is a platform and record-keeper. We are not a record label, a talent agency, a promoter, an employer of Artists, or a party to any performance agreement between an Artist and a Booker.

2. Artist content and licence

Artists keep full ownership of their music, videos, images and text. By uploading content, an Artist grants Sounds of Timor a non-exclusive, revocable, worldwide licence to host, stream, transcode, excerpt and display that content on the platform and in platform promotion (for example a “new releases” feature). This licence ends for a given work when the Artist removes it, except for cached copies deleted in the ordinary course and records we must keep.

Artists must only upload content they own or are licensed to use — see the Copyright & Takedown Policy, which forms part of these terms.

3. Streaming

Streaming is for personal, non-commercial listening. Downloading, re-uploading, ripping or redistributing platform content is prohibited unless the Artist has explicitly enabled a download for that work. Public performance of platform streams (for example as venue background music) may require separate rights.

4. Bookings

Booking requests, acceptances, agreed fees, deposits and payment records made on the platform are records of an agreement between the Artist and the Booker. The performance contract is between those two parties alone. We do not guarantee that an Artist will appear or that a Booker will pay; we do provide both sides with the written record.

5. Payments

Cash payments happen directly between the parties and may be recorded on the platform. SOT Coin payments are executed by the SOT Coin wallet service under its own terms. Sounds of Timor does not hold client funds and does not provide escrow. Future paid features (fan subscriptions, tips, ticketing, featured placement) will carry their own terms when they launch.

6. Accounts and conduct

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials safe. We may suspend accounts that upload infringing or unlawful content, impersonate artists, post fraudulent events or bookings, harass other users, or attempt to circumvent platform safeguards.

7. Reviews and ratings

Ratings of performances and bookings must reflect genuine experiences and are moderated under the same rules for all parties.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sounds of Timor is not liable for losses arising from agreements between users, cancelled performances, content uploaded by users, or decisions made in reliance on platform content. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal or financial advice.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the platform. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
