Content Rules
These rules keep Sounds of Timor a place worth publishing on. They apply to every track, video, image, profile, event listing and comment. Breaking them leads to content removal; repeated or serious breaches lead to account suspension.
Your music, your uploads
- Upload only work you own or are licensed to publish — see the Copyright & Takedown Policy.
- Credit everyone: co-writers, producers, featured artists, photographers.
- Cover art and photos must be yours to use — no lifted images.
Honest profiles and events
- Be who you say you are. Impersonating another artist is an immediate ban.
- Press-kit claims (festivals played, lineup size, set lengths) must be true.
- Event listings must be real events, with real dates and venues. Cancelled events must be updated promptly.
Content limits
- Explicit lyrics are part of music — mark them, so listeners and venues can choose.
- No hate speech or incitement against any group; artistic anger is welcome, dehumanisation is not.
- No content sexualising minors, promoting violence against identifiable people, or breaking Timorese law.
Bookings and conduct
- Respond honestly: accept bookings you intend to play, decline ones you don’t.
- No fee circumvention tricks — the record protects you; gaming it removes that protection.
- Reviews must reflect real experiences.
